On Government (books)
Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 09:54AM My second series has been released. The six books each focus on a segment of government, and are intended to teach civics without the snooze factor. How is this possible? Real life examples.
For example, in "What Does a Mayor Do?" I cite the 2009 dedication of a new firehouse in Lousville, Kent. by Mayor Jerry Abramson. The thinking here is that by showing young people how government directly impacts their lives, they will take a greater interest in government. By taking a greater interest in government, those young people will then grow to be participants in our democracy. That is the only way to keep this great experiment moving forward, right?
